About the Faculty

History of the FACULTY.

Faculty of Pediatrics was formed in 1967. The number of students was 150 people. During the period of the faculty existence, 4560 pediatric doctors were trained, 250 of them graduated with honors.

Currently, training in the specialty «Pediatrics» is conducted in 44 departments. The number of teachers with a scientific degree is 86.6%. The faculty scientists contributed a lot to the development of medical science.

Priority areas of research are «Gastroenterological pathology in children» (childhood diseases), «Pulmonology» (outpatient pediatrics), «Arterial hypertension» (hospital pediatrics) and many others.

The scope of the program of a specialist is 360 of credits, regardless of the type of education, educational technologies are used, and the volume of the program does not depend upon realization of a specialty program using the network, the implementation of the program of specialty in the individual curriculum, including the accelerated learning plan.

Medical activity:

prevention of diseases among the population through preventive and anti-epidemic measures;

conducting preventive and medical examinations, clinical examinations, events. follow-up;

diagnosis of diseases and pathological conditions of children;

the collection and medical - statistical analysis of the population health indicator, which characterize the health status of children;

diagnosis of diseases and pathological conditions of children;

diagnosis of emergency conditions;

pregnancy diagnosis;

examination of temporary disability and participation in other types of expertise;

provision of primary health care of children on an outpatient basis and in day hospital;

provision of primary health care for sudden acute illness, exacerbation of chronic diseases;

participation of emergency medical care in conditions requiring emergency medical care;

provision of emergency medical care including participation in medical evacuation;

participation in sanatorium-resort treatment and rehabilitation for children;

participation in evaluation for preserving the health of the population, patients and their families;

It is necessary education and training of children, parents and legal guardians in the formation of motivation. This motivation will keep the health of the children and will teach them the basics of hygiene measures for prevention of diseases. And also, these measures are to promote improving of health.
